She served as manager of the Jakarta Arts Council’s Kineforum from 2011–2014. In 2013, she had the opportunity to take part in a short program of the Institut Français d’Indonésie (IFI), film preservation and restoration at the University of Louis Lumière Paris. Two years later, she became a jury member at the MiCe Film Festival, a children’s and youth film festival in Valencia, Spain.

In 2018, Sugar completed a training program and collaborative project between young Southeast Asian and Japanese film curators by the Japan Foundation Asia Center. Currently, she works for the Jury Committee Department at Indonesia Film Festival (FFI) and is the Festival Director at Madani Film Festival while also involved in several projects with Garin Nugroho.
