Dr. Ekky Imanjaya is a lecturer, researcher, and critic in film and pop culture. He is a permanent lecturer at the Film Study Program, Bina Nusantara University in Alam Sutera, South Tangerang. Ekky recently completed his doctoral study in Film Studies at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, England. His doctoral thesis is “The Cultural Traffic of Classic Indonesian Exploitation Cinema”, which is currently being translated into Indonesian. His latest book, Mencari Film Madani: Sinema dan Dunia Islam, was published by the Jakarta Arts Council Film Committee and launched at the 2019 Madani International Film Festival. He is the chairperson of the Film Committee of the Jakarta Arts Council 2020–2023
