Sakdiyah is Indonesia’s first Muslim female stand-up comic taking the stage to promote dialogue, peace, tolerance, women’s empowerment, and fighting violence against women and religious fundamentalism.
Sakdiyah received several recognitions and fellowships because of her work, including Havel Prize for Creative Dissent 2015, BBC 100 Women 2018, Human Rights Foundation’s Freedom Fellows 2021, International Art Leaders Fellowship from Australia Council for the Art 2022.
She has performed in Indonesia and abroad including Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Egypt. Her works have been included in Comedy Jihad, Born A Women, etc., Indonesia Seharusnya Rumah Bersama, and other shows. She is the co-founder and main facilitator of Our Voice for Change, a women and youth initiative to promote social change, equality, and inclusivity through comedy.
