Dr. Ian Wilson is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and Security Studies, and a Research Fellow at the Indo-Pacific Research Centre, Murdoch University, Western Australia. He has researched Indonesian politics and society for over three decades. His research interests include organised criminality and political violence, urban social movements, the political agency of subaltern groups. He has authored numerous publications including The Politics of Protection Rackets in Post-New Order Indonesia, published in Indonesia as Politik Jatah Preman (2019) and Politik Tenaga Dalam (2020).
